Crazy Potato Heads, School and Giggles!

We’ve been on a Mr Potato Head kick this week, all trying to outdo each other with our silliest creation! This one made the kiddos giggle:)

I got a little shelf/hook at Ikea the other day for Eliana to hang her own things on. The boys already have hooks for their coats, hats and bookbags and Eliana was stealing theirs:) She LOVES this! She was so excited when Daddy hung it up and couldn’t wait to put her own things on it.
Today we got the boys’ teacher names and class lists in the mail! They were SO excited to open them:) I prayed several times over their teachers this year. You want your child to have a teacher they can connect with and really learn from. Zakkai got Samuel’s first grade teacher, Mrs. S! I was thrilled to see that because we just loved her! And Samuel got the teacher he was hoping for! Now, I can’t tell you a darn thing about her teaching skills. All I know is that she gives her students a small stuffed animal on the first day of school and that was enough to hook Samuel:) haha. Hope he isn’t disappointed!
Our friend, Marissa, who was in Z’s class last year and who has declared she is going to marry him when she grows up, was devastated to find out that Z is not in her class this year. She is currently refusing to talk about her class list with her mom….;)

Here is a very silly Missy girl! Love her giggles!! And the way she turns on me at the end:)

Cooking up a Storm!

Eliana got a “new” kitchen from some friends today! They have a grand total of THREE play kitchens for their little girl (the dad is a bit of a garage sale, side of the road junkie) and decided they could get rid of a couple.

So we got a new toy:)

When Z saw me carrying it in this afternoon, he quickly abandoned his brother and friends outside and came to play with his Sis:) It made dinner preparation more peaceful!

Speaking of dinner, tonight I made savory pizza pancakes! It was basic pancake batter with seasonings and spices, diced red pepper and some sauteed chopped swiss chard. I was a little iffy on whether the three juniors would eat it but to my surprise they did! Add a little pizza dipping sauce and it makes a big hit. Missy ate one (she loves sauce!) and the boys gobbled up 4 each!!

And here’s a silly video of Samuel making Eliana giggle. The best giggles were before I could get the camera on and after the battery died but at least I got a couple!

Happy Tuesday!

Traveling Fam

We made it safely to Ohio last night. Zakkai was an absolute angel the whole trip! He entertained Eliana, watched car and truck wheels, played, took a nap, ate a snack and only asked if we were close about 95 times!

Eliana did pretty well, too. There was a fair amount of screeching when she dropped toys or threw her special elephants and was fighting a nap but other than that…:)

It was a hard day for us as a family to be separated from each other. Samuel was in tears several times yesterday and ended up sleeping with Daddy last night. He hasn’t decided where he is sleeping tonight;) We are taking this one day at a time but hoping the time goes quickly so we can be back together again.

I went to the dr before our trip yesterday and learned that I am completely off my foot for another 10 days. Yuck. I get that everything needs to knit together inside but…just yuck. It’s really hard not to be able to pick up my baby and comfort her unless someone brings her to me or to care for myself, clean things, cook, etc. But today I decided that I need to find the blessings in this situation so I don’t get frustrated or discouraged!

So far:

*Eliana got over her fear of my mom and has finally bonded with her, which makes my heart happy.

*Ben is getting special time with just Samuel while they are “baching” over in Chicago.

*We are being shown lots of love by family!

*I have time to read lots of books:) And think. And pray.

And, so you can be as amused as we are, here are 2 videos of E. In the first one, she is making a methodical mess of my “library.” And in the 2nd, she is having quite a conversation as she has been doing lately. Cracks us up!

End your weekend with a happy video of our Sweetiana! 🙂 Notice she says “Hi” once or twice really softly at the very beginning, see her mess she makes outside the crib (usually it’s worse!) and take note of the pure joy on her face when she sees her big brother:)

This is what life has been like with this sweet girl for almost a year!
